Toolkit for Centering and Worship
This toolkit is offered as a set of reflections and practices for Friends to draw on – now and in the future – providing an invitation to try new ways of entering or deepening your experience of worship.
Spiritual Practices
Advices on developing a regular spiritual practice, adapted from Four Doors to Meeting for Worship: Choose a simple and regular spiritual practice that is recommended by some authority you trust, and with which you feel comfortable. Persist in it, even when you do not see immediate results.
Queries
Quakers often find Queries a powerful spiritual discipline. Returning again and again to the same prompt for deep reflection can set the stage for new understandings, changes of heart, and a rising sense of loving action that needs to be taken.
Lectio Divina
Lectio divina is a method of reading Scripture used for many centuries in the monastic Christian tradition. Below is an adaptation of lectio divina for Quakers.

Worship Sharing
Worship sharing focuses on a particular question and helps us to explore our own experience and share with each other more deeply than we would in normal conversation. It seeks to draw us into sacred space, where we can take down our usual defenses, and encounter each other in “that which is eternal.”
The guidelines for worship sharing have been evolving among Friends for the past half century, drawing on a number of different sources.
