The FGC Gathering includes people with asthma and chemical sensitivities which are triggered by fragrances. Help these Friends stay healthy by doing your best to bring fragrance-free toiletries (some Fragrance Free products will be available at the Gathering Bookstore).
Fragrance Free Environment: For the safety of attenders with allergies and chemical sensitivities, we expect Gathering attenders to avoid the use of scented products (cologne, perfume, aftershave, scented hand creams, shampoo, conditioner, bug repellent). Additionally, the clothing you bring with you should be washed with fragrance-free detergent before you arrive, or washed upon arrival with the fragrance-free detergent we will provide for you. Dorm residents will be provided with fragrance-free soap and shampoo at no additional cost. Other products will be available for purchase at the Gathering Office. If you have a medical need to use a non-fragrance-free product, please contact the Gathering Accessibility Coordinator on the Gathering Contact Form so that we can make arrangements for you to safely use that product without harm to others.
Fragrance Free Products
This is a list of a few fragrance-free products. Many are available in co-ops and more and more mainstream drug, grocery, or department stores. There are products that claim to be fragrance-free or unscented, but include masking fragrances. Avoid any product with “fragrance” in the ingredients list.
