Photos of Friends help build a sense of community. FGC uses photography and video from the Summer Gathering to share the vibrancy and joy of Quaker life. In addition, we use these images in print materials, newsletters, and on fgcquaker.org. We also use them for social media, publicity, and fundraising. Photos support our work in education, Quaker outreach, and connecting Friends across North America.
As a participant in FGC events, you have the right to opt out of photos and media. To do so, a Media Images Opt-Out Release must be signed and on file at the FGC office. It must also include a reference image of the person opting out. Without a completed form on file, participation in FGC activities implies permission to use images taken at those events.
FGC will never post images with identifying information. This includes names, email addresses, home addresses, or family members’ names. In addition, no special compensation is given to individuals whose images are used. FGC does not contact individuals to notify them when their image is used.
If you have submitted an Opt-Out Release form, please alert photographers if you see them nearby. This helps ensure you are not accidentally captured in crowd shots.
Note that this opt-out form does not apply to photos taken by other attendees at the Gathering.
