Vitality: Staying Faithful to Our Testimonies in Times Like This

Text Gamma

In the early 1980s, an interfaith group, including Quakers, was led to deepen their solidarity with immigrants in Central America. That contributed to the beginning of the interfaith sanctuary movement.

The litigations that FGC and several affiliated yearly meetings have recently signed on to, as well as the countless ways Friends and meetings are standing together with their immigrant communities, are steps on a much longer journey. Along the way, we are invited to stay faithful to our testimonies and the “power with” processes and dynamics that help us discern together what Spirit is calling us to do.

Amid the chaos of these times, Friends are seeking support and spiritual community. Newcomers are attending Spiritual Deepening eRetreats, Friends are exploring QuakerBooks and attending Ministry on Racism events. Countless volunteers and community members are planning for and considering how they’ll participate in the 2026 Gathering. FGC is facilitating more conversations with yearly meeting clerks so they can better support and learn from one another. Your support helps make these vital programs and resources available to all.

FGC’s fiscal year ends September 30. Between now and then, a generous Friend will double the impact of your gift, matching it dollar for dollar, up to $20,000. Or, if you start a new recurring monthly donation, your gift will be triple-matched!

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today. Your gift will strengthen the spiritual vitality of Friends.

In gratitude,

Barry Crossno

General Secretary
