Vitality: Announcing the 2026 Gathering

The Friends General Conference Events Team is thrilled to announce the 2026 Gathering theme, “A Window and a Door: A Prayer,” which invites us to open ourselves to new perspectives and step into a deeper connection with the Spirit. This theme will guide our week of worship, workshops, and community-building as we gather from July 7-12, 2026, at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. We can’t wait to welcome Friends of all ages to this beautiful new location.

Do you feel led to share your gifts with the community? We are now seeking proposals for workshops that explore our theme and contribute to a more just and loving world. Workshops proposals that consider how the windows and doors to our souls are important and needed in these times are desired. We invite you to hold LVM Shelton’s poem prayerfully as you plan your workshop proposal. Workshops are at the heart of the Gathering and are a wonderful way to teach, learn, and grow together. We especially encourage submissions that support FGC’s commitment to becoming an actively anti-racist faith community and welcome proposals that offer fresh perspectives on our shared Quaker faith. The proposal form will be live from September 1-30, so start thinking about what you might offer!

As we prepare for a Spirit-led week, it’s also time to get ready for early registration. Early pre-registration will open in Fall 2025, and we’ll be sure to share the exact date and time with you soon. This is a new initiative that will offer monthly payment plans to full-time on campus attenders as well as full-time commuters. This registration period will not include workshops but will include housing options and meals plans.

We look forward to gathering with you to deepen our spiritual connections and build a vibrant community together.

In Friendship,

The FGC Events Team
