Dear Friend,

Happy 2017!  January’s new year can bring a fresh start to Friends’ ongoing work, the start of new work, or provide a natural starting point for quiet winter reflection. This issue includes both classic and more contemporary book suggestions focusing on Quaker social activists and their work, as well as Max Carter’s review of a book with a newer way of looking at the Bible – with humor! We also share a new children’s book which is a tribute to the author of a ground-breaking and “older” 1962 book, included in What Are You Reading?

QuakerBooks & More sends you wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2017!  Together, we have much work to do . . .

In the Light,
Samantha Wilson
Manager, QuakerBooks of FGC
