Workshop Description
Men need time with other men to share our experience, strength, and hope in a patriarchal society. Through a mixture of experiential exercises, open discussions, and shared worship we will celebrate positive masculinity and mourn our broken hearts when men hurt others.
This workshop is intended to be a deep sharing amongst men so that we can heal our wounds and grow as role models for the next generation of men. We will use a variety of gestalt/guided meditation/movement/journaling/AVP/play activities to build community, take risks, and push ourselves gently into a deeper awareness of what it means to be a Quaker man in troubled times.
People who identify as men who join this workshop need only bring themselves and an open mind. I am a man who thrives when interacting with other men. I have been in one men’s group or another since 1989 and hope to create a deep sharing experience with other men at the Gathering.
