Vassalboro Friends Meeting

Welcome!

Welcome to the online home of the Vassalboro Friends Meeting, located at 48 South Stanley Hill Road in Vassalboro, ME, 04989.

Vassalboro Friends Meeting is an unprogrammed Quaker (Friends) Meeting located in the village of East Vassalboro, ME. The brick Meetinghouse in East Vassalboro was built in 1831, and was actually the second Meeting to be established in Vassalboro — the first having been built in 1734 in the Riverside area of the town.

Services begin each Sunday with hymn singing at 9:45 AM, followed by an hour of unprogrammed worship from 10:00 to 11:00.

“Either we have hope within us or we don’t; it is a dimension of the soul, and it’s not essentially dependent on some particular observation of the world or estimate of the situation...Hope is an orientation of the heart; it transcends the world that is immediately experienced, and is anchored somewhere beyond its horizons.
