Our meetinghouse is in downtown Rochester at the corner of Scio and Charlotte Streets. The entrance is under a green awning on Charlotte. We are a block south of Main Street on Scio Street and a block north of East Avenue. There is a municipal parking garage across the street on Scio.
From Interstate 490 East, take the Downtown/Clinton Avenue exit and go north on Clinton Avenue. At Main Street, turn right, go to Scio Street, and turn right again. You will see the meetinghouse to your left at the corner of Scio and Charlotte. The meetinghouse is a red brick building.
From Interstate 490 West, take the Inner Loop exit going east (clockwise). Take the Scio Street exit and turn right onto Scio. The meetinghouse is on on your left, after two traffic signals, at the corner of Scio and Charlotte.
Rochester Friends Meeting has several individual roles and standing committees which conduct the affairs for the Business Meeting. There are also project-related Working Groups and short-lived committees for Clearness, Support, Anchor, etc.
This website exclusively serves the spiritual life and information needs of the Rochester NY Friends Meeting.
Friends do not have prescribed dogma. We are more interested in exploring questions (queries) than accepting given answers.
We serve the broader community by making our facility available to groups whose activities are consistent with Quaker beliefs.
Quaker worship follows the form established by the earliest members of the Religious Society of Friends.
