Friends General Conference

Together we nurture the spiritual vitality of Friends
a Quaker Community in Lansdowne, Pennsylvania

Lansdowne Friends Meeting

First Day School at Lansdowne Friends Meeting

Quakers are an active, involved faith-based community living in the modern world. We are a diverse group; the Religious Society of Friends consists of several distinct branches. We continue our traditional testimonies of non-violence, social equality, integrity, and simplicity, which we interpret and express in a variety of ways. Today, many Friends include stewardship of our planet as one of our testimonies.

Quote of the week

Faith and Practice 2017, Extracts pg 171

Perhaps it is this integrity, the concept of the wholeness of creation, that will jolt humanity onto a course of sustainability, which people may see as threatening at first. Of course change is often uncomfortable, but change is a must. We need to nurture ourselves and each other, but ultimately we need to nurture the earth-our mother. Josephine Vallentine, 1991
