FGC Staff Attend 26th Annual White Privilege Conference

Conference renews strength and commitment for many attendees
The 2025 White Privilege Conference drew 500 attendees, including four FGC staff and 19 other Friends. People gathered in Hartford, Connecticut from March 26-29, 2025. Friends enjoyed a mid-week Meeting for worship, and they received both food and fellowship from hosts in West Hartford Meeting. Four days of workshops, keynotes, caucuses, and film screenings, left people feeling tired but hopeful, with renewed energy for the continuing struggle.
Attendees met for workshops such as Food Justice and Antiracism, Decolonizing DEI, and Diagnosing Whiteness. There were several workshop tracts for different types of professionals. The keynote speakers — Jessica Moore, Oiyan Poon, Omekongo Dibinga, and Dante King — shared deeply from personal, historical, institutional, familial, and spiritual contexts. Their words helped listeners to broaden their knowledge and commitment to antiracism work.
Throughout the conference, a designated on-site ‘Quaker Room’ provided further opportunity for connections to be forged and fed, which we hope will further Friends’ impact in our wider communities. To learn more about the White Privilege Conference, visit the website of The Privilege Institute.
