From May 29-June 26, 2024, several Friends met together for the “Weaving a Wider Welcome” eRetreat. Zenaida Peterson (they/them) and Rachael Carter (they/them) co-facilitated this retreat, which met virtually.

Together, attenders looked carefully at the ways in which Quakers have been negatively influenced by the dominant culture. Friends identified patterns in Quaker spaces that may support comfort, but fail to serve faithfulness in the Religious Society of Friends. People also reflected as a group about what it might take to let go of those comfortable patterns. Friends envisioned a future that is more liberated and spirit-led.
