The Accessibility volunteer team is eager to hear from Friends about specific needs which must be met to enable their attendance and full participation in the Gathering. We will do all that we can to meet these needs. For example, golf cart shuttles are available for Friends with mobility limitations. When registering, please check all Accessibility Needs that apply, adding appropriate details.

Layout

The campus at University of Vermont is fairly spread out. We will have golf carts available to assist people with mobility needs and access needs in getting from place to place.

Financial Accessibility

FGC wants Friends of all financial means to be able to attend the Gathering. Please visit our Financial Aid page to learn more about FGC’s steps to make that a reality.

Use of Fragrances

At the University of Vermont in 2026, we will be sharing space with different campus groups including athletes and staff. As such, we cannot guarantee a fragrance-free environment. Students and athletes in the area may be wearing perfumes, deodorants, or scented laundry detergent as they pass by. FGC will provide fragrance-free soaps in public bathrooms, but we cannot ensure that non-Gathering participants use these soaps.

In our efforts to create an accessible environment, we aim to reduce fragrances at the 2026 Gathering. When you are at the Gathering, please do not use cologne, perfume, or aftershave. Please purchase fragrance-free shampoo and bring it with you when you travel. It may be wise to bring fragrance-free soap as well. A list of products is below. FGC is working with the University of Vermont to ensure that the linens in the dorm rooms will be cleaned with fragrance-free detergent. These linens may have been washed with fragrances previously.

We expect all Gathering participants to avoid wearing scented products, including hand creams, shampoo, conditioner, and bug repellent. Before you leave home for the Gathering, please wash your clothing with fragrance-free detergent. We cannot guarantee that fragrance-free detergent will be available onsite.

If you have a medical need to use a non-fragrance-free product, please contact Gathering@FGCQuaker.org. We will do our best to make arrangements with you.
