Event Description
The ‘A Quaker Way of Living with Dying’ eRetreat honors the spirituality of death while celebrating the richness of growing old. Through contemplation and community, we uncover the wisdom inherent in life’s transitions, guiding us to embrace each moment with clarity and purpose. Join us as we navigate this transformative journey, cultivating resilience and deepening our connection to the essence of existence.
Attending the ‘A Quaker Way of Living with Dying’ eRetreat was a deeply spiritual experience. Surrounded by a supportive community, I gained profound insights into the spiritual essence of death and aging. It helped me embrace each moment with renewed clarity and purpose, deepening my connection to existence.

eRetreat Details:
- Offered March 11 through April 1, 2024
- Four weeks, $45 pay-as-led** participation fee
- People of all ages are invited to participate
- Weekly readings, queries, resources, and activities available on FGC’s eRetreat website, Matrix
- Community Building Calls: Mondays from 7:30-9pm Eastern / 4:30-6pm Pacific starting March 11.
**Pay-as-Led is a method of offering sliding scale pricing so that paid events are more accessible for people with a wide range of abilities to pay. Participants choose how much to pay for the registration fee.

Community Building Calls
Each week, the facilitator will lead Community Building Calls using Zoom. During these calls, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the eRetreat content, worship together, do additional eRetreat exercises, and build connections with each other.
The A Quaker Way of Living with Dying eRetreat will be facilitated by Yana Landowne.
Mahayana (Yana) Landowne is deeply connected to various Quaker communities. She serves as a NYYM Aging Resources Consultation Help (ARCH) Outreach Coordinator, workshop facilitator, and co-developer of the mentorship program for Young Adult Friends. She is a member of Brooklyn Monthly Meeting where she clerks the Welcoming Committee and facilitates art activism groups. Passionate about interactive performance and art activism, Yana encourages radical self-expression and empowerment through creativity. She is a professional theater director, interactive artist, art activist, and is very involved with the Extinction Rebellion community. This A Quaker Way of Living with Dying eRetreat is offered in coordination with the Building a Meaningful and Connected Life eRetreat, also led by Yana, starting April 22nd (three weeks after this one ends). People are welcome to join either or both.
