What's New

November was a busy month at our 175-year-old meetinghouse. Doolittle Construction workers completed much needed repairs to the meetinghouse’s failing foundation and floor beams. Nearly one- half of the community room’s floor was removed to enable workers to replace the floor beams, shore-up the column supports and access the foundation. They also installed moisture barriers in the crawlspace, and laid outdoor drains to provide additional moisture mitigation for the building.

In addition to our regular practice of meeting in person or virtually for quiet worship, Quakers sometimes take part in what is called Worship Sharing.

The artist and the Quaker are on the same internal journey. Each is seeking a relationship with the Divine, and each is seeking a way to express that relationship. There are just many different ways of expressing it. For many, the path to the Self has to be entered by way of the arts, whether or not we are gifted in that field. That doesn’t seem to matter. As St. Paul says: If we have not love, we are as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. And for many of us, the pathway to love is through the arts.

“Monthly Meeting”, “Clerk”, “Convincement”, “Clearness”, “Minutes” – What do all these words have in common? They all mean something specific to Quakers!

Members and attenders of Millville Friends Meeting are invited to meet with Millville Friends for a
mid-week Zoom gathering on Wednesdays from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm
The time will be somewhat structured with brief worship, and guided sharing.
After 8:00 pm the host will leave the Zoom open for a time for Friends to just chat and socialize.
