Supporting Public Ministry in a Small Meeting

The Southern Illinois Quakers have a long history of supporting its Friends who are led into service beyond the meeting. In the 2000's and later, we began formalizing this support with a flexible structure, providing discernment, financial oversight, and travel letters to those Friends. Most ministries have a finite duration, such as a work camp project, while others may be ongoing and evolving.

Further information is linked here in our business minutes from 2001-2016, as well as attached below. The Ministry Fund Guidelines document is periodically revised to more accurately describe the oversight processes that have evolved.
