Raleigh Friends Meeting's Christmas party doubled as a collection for Love Wins, Raleigh's non-profit organization that assists homeless citizens.  A few months ago, Love Wins received a large donation of pancake mix -- too much for their own uses or even their storage.  They offered the mix to congregations and humanitarian organizations in hopes that they would either feed the hungry or raise funds that would be donated to Love Wins.  Raleigh Friends took two bags and made pancakes and waffles as part of our breakfast-themed potluck dinner.

Raleigh Friends Meeting is collecting donations for the AME Church Shelter for the Homeless, a small shelter near Peace Street.  Many of the men the shelter serves are part of the working poor who cannot afford housing.  They need warm clothing, sturdy work boots or shoes, and outerwear.
