Quaker practices use many methods, but they share a common purpose. They create space where listening matters more than speaking. They value unity over winning an argument. They keep open the possibility of personal and communal change. These practices remind us that when we follow the Light and act in love, we can help bring healing to the world.

Survival Sourcebook: The Care and Maintenance of Small Meetings and Worship Groups, published in 1990, was created because many small Quaker meetings and worship groups found themselves alone, scattered, or facing challenges. They needed a way to share ideas, stay connected, and find fresh energy. This handbook gathers many stories and ideas from small Quaker groups, especially ones located far apart, to help them stay strong and grow.
