Meeting for Worship With Concern to Business

Attending: Jill Adams, Michael Batinski, Kathy Cotton, Dawn Crimson, Tom Hensold (clerk), Dennis Holtzclaw, Gary Marx (recording).

The meeting opened with a moment of silence.

Dawn Crimson presented the Treasurer’s Report, which showed a balance of $1,017.01 in the Operating Fund at the end of December. 

It was noted that next Sunday, February 3, is "Souper Bowl of Caring" Sunday, which benefits Good Samaritan House. Friends are encouraged to contribute and Jill Adams has offered to collect individual donations for this effort. 

Dawn read the annual report from Illinois Yearly Meeting, which provided an update of IYM initiatives and business along with an appeal for monthly meetings to consider increasing their contributions to the yearly meeting. It was noted that Southern Illinois Quaker Meeting sends $120 per month to IYM.

The Treasurer’s Report was accepted. 

Friends next discussed the selection of officers for the Meeting. After some discussion and much reflection, Friends approved these appointments for the next two years: Jill Adams as Clerk of the Meeting, Dawn Crimson as Treasurer, and Gary Marx as Recording Clerk. Kathy Cotton will continue as coordinator of Religion Education. Friends also express their gratitude to Tom Hensold for serving this past term so ably as Clerk of the Meeting.
