Individuals interested in applying for scholarships for the Gathering in Grinnell IA, June 30-July 6, should be aware of FGC and NYM policies.
Registering for the Gathering during Early Registration (April 1-14) increases the likelihood of obtaining the maximum scholarship from FGC. FGC recommends that you register as early as possible, even if you do not yet know whether your Meeting will be able to financially help you. If the financial aid provided to you is not enough to allow you to attend, you may cancel without penalty if you cancel within one week of learning of your financial aid award.
NYM also has scholarship funds available. For 2019, NYM will provide scholarships for lodging and meals for youth up to age 18 if FGC does not.
NYM expects that you will apply to FGC and your local meeting or worship group for financial support. For complete information please see the PDF document below.
Note that while program fees are waived in 2019 for all youth under 18, FGC still requires housing and meal fees for youth, although there are scholarships available for housing and meals. Also note that there are workgrants available from FGC in addition to scholarships. And as noted above, for 2019, NYM will provide scholarships for lodging and meals for youth up to age 18 if FGC does not.
