October 1 is World Quaker Day. Quakers are also known as Friends, as in the Religious Society of Friends. We have a rich history of opposing slavery (Lucretia Mott), war in all its forms (A.J. Muste), being at the forefront of women's rights (Susan B. Anthony) and the civil rights movement (Bayard Rustin). If you'd like to learn more about Quaker beliefs in action, experience the peace of silent worship and the fellowship of Quaker community potluck come and join us!
