Memphis Friends Meeting - Visitors Are Welcome

Robin reports that she was able to deliver 20 jars of peanut butter to New Tyler AME on Saturday. Please continue to bring PB to the meetinghouse, as well as ready-to-eat protein meals that do not require a can opener.

The passage shared at meeting for worship with attention to business was from Parker Palmer:

“Friends are most in the Spirit when they stand at the crossing point of the inward and outward life. And that is the intersection at which we find community. Community is a place where the connections felt in the heart make themselves known in bonds between people, and where tuggings and pullings of those bonds keep opening up our hearts.”

The Co-clerks offered this query:

What am I doing to keep open my heart?

Jane Abraham of the HART Center and the Healing Hearts Foundation spoke at the 3/23 Meeting for Learning. She recognized many familiar faces who have been through the HART Center's doors. She shared about the many modalities of healing that have spoken to her over the years, for example, EMDR, and her current interest in sound healing. Donations may be left in the box in the Meetinghouse collection room.

The suggested donation item for April is PEANUT BUTTER, though all food donations are welcome.

At the February business meeting, Memphis Friends opened a conversation about organizing a retreat in May. The co-clerks have been in dialogue with Mary Ann Downey of Atlanta Friends, who has expressed willingness in leading the retreat. The most recent issue of Friends Journal has an article by Mary Ann. Any Friends interested in helping to plan the retreat may contact Adrian or email memphisfriendsmeeting@gmail.com
