Trenton Friends Meeting

Welcome to Trenton Friends Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers)!

We meet each First Day (Sunday) at 10am.

We have a First Day School for children.  Please check this site or with a Meeting member for details.  We appreciate having children among us!

Any and everyone is welcome to worship with us, whether seeking a spiritual home, looking for a Sunday school for children, or visiting as a member of another religious group. Come as you are.  We won't pressure you to join us.  Although the Society of Friends began as a purely Christian group, many Friends now consider themselves universalists and learn from many religious traditions.

We worship together for about an hour in what is mostly silence.  Although not much is being said, there is much going on as we center together in prayer.  Sometimes out of that silence, people rise to speak, sharing messages that come from the holy part of them. We find the honesty and truth revealed in this way to be helpful and inspiring, sometimes leading to callings and actions.  Quakers are often active making contributions to their communities.

Among the historical testimonies that express central values of Quakers are the presence of God in each person, a direct and individual communion with God, and between all human beings a working towards peace, equality, simplicity, care of the environment and care for each other.  In these times, many people feel these leadings!

At the request of some who were at the Meetinghouse during our memorial worship for Thereas, I've created a site where sharing can occur.

I think people who could not attend her memorial would like to hear our thoughts in this way so it might be nice to make an entry even if it repeats what we expressed on Sunday.
