In First Day School on July 26, six people of all ages identified their favorite animals, played animal charades, and viewed a video of a 10-year-old interviewing John Lewis. Susan shared a story of how Lewis cared for and preached to his 60 chickens. Eldred was excited to show off his new chickens on the zoom screen. Then everyone shifted to a funny game called ‘Drawing on Your Head’ and watched a meditative video of butterflies at the Houston Butterfly Center with a suggestion to think of a place that is peaceful, beautiful or happy.

On August 23 the theme was going back to school. We did some group drawing imagining extensions of hopscotch, read a book called The Day You Begin, worked with emojis in a worship sharing way, saw how cats annoy kids doing homework and ended with a cat-guided meditation.

The next First Day School meeting will be on September 26 at 1 p.m. All ages are invited. Watch for an email invitation.
