AFSC's Bystander Intervention webinar

In order to reach a wider audience and engage a greater number of people in the work of the American Friends Service Committee and to provide skills training, the AFSC has begun to provide training via an electronic or webinar platform.

Todd Kummer recently participated in a training called, “Bystander Intervention” which is a training to help people make safe spaces everywhere. We may see another person, perhaps a refugee, a person from another country, just someone different who is being harassed on the street. How can we intervene in a calm, non confrontational and loving manner to deescalate the situation. This training speaks directly to the do’s and don’ts for bystander Intervention.

During this gathering time Todd will show the webinar training with some time for discussion. The training is given by Lucy Duncan, AFSC Friends Liaison. Because the training is streamed from the AFSC web site it will be important to arrive as promptly as possible at 9:45 to hear Lucy’s introduction to the training.
