Viewing and discussion of the documentary "13TH"
In celebration of Black History Month, Lake Forest Friends Meeting invites the community to come to a viewing of the movie 13th. 13th explores the intersection of race, justice and mass incarceration in the United States. It is titled after the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Thirteenth Amendment freed slaves and prohibited slavery…unless as punishment for a crime.
Following the film showing, there will be a discussion of the film’s content and a sharing of personal experiences.
