Nurturing faith and Quaker practice
A Quaker community in Frederick, Maryland

Frederick Friends Meeting

You Are Welcome Here

Frederick Friends Meeting is a Quaker community brought together to know God and to answer that of God in everyone. We welcome people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, and faith backgrounds.

Take a tour of this website to learn more about us and the Religious Society of Friends (or Quakers), of which we are a part. And we invite you to join us in worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 or Wednesday evenings at 7:00 at 723 North Market Street in downtown Frederick.

Our life is love, and peace, and tenderness; and bearing one with another, and forgiving one another, and not laying accusations one against another; but praying one for another, and helping one another up with a tender hand.

—Isaac Penington (1667)

What's New

Frederick Friends Meeting asks our Members of Congress to consider and support the approach outlined in a statement from our regional Quaker organization (Baltimore Yearly Meeting), which was sent to the White House and the U.S. State Department. We ask for continued patience, diplomacy and nonmilitary interactions to accomplish true peace-building and a better future for the Korean peninsula. Our nation must reject the false promises of war and threats of war. We urge them to oppose a preemptive military strike against North Korea.

Frederick Friends Meeting (FFM) welcomes the use of its meetinghouse and property. There is a residential tenant on the third floor, and some of the second-floor space is rented by businesses. Use of that space is governed by the tenants’ leases. Other interior spaces and the yard can be reserved for occasional use by appropriate organizations or individuals. The space available for non-FFM groups generally consists of rooms on the first floor and the yard, though special arrangements can be made for use of rooms on the second floor.
