Mattaponi Monthly Meeting

Meeting Description:

Mattaponi Friends Meeting is located in Cologne, Virginia, in lower King and Queen County, a short distance from the Mattaponi and York Rivers. Our meetinghouse is an extension of the barn on Dayspring Farm, an eighteen-acre working farm devoted to ecological growing practices. We began as a worship group under the care of Williamsburg Friends Meeting over twenty-five years ago and became a full Monthly Meeting in 2012.

Members and participants meet in person and via Zoom every First Day (Sunday) from 10 to 11 am for silent worship beginning with singing together from the Friends Hymnal with a second hour from 11 am to 12 noon for worship sharing.

Our meeting has always been small with members traveling from the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. The small size but large geographic area has added to both the intimacy of our fellowship together and the diversity we enjoy. The addition of the Zoom format allows us to expand these qualities by inviting friends to join us virtually.
