When you are the only Friend in town, the meetinghouse is too far away, or you cannot take part in your Quaker community in person, online worship and Spiritual Deepening eRetreats can help you stay connected to your faith.
There are currently two calendars available for Friends and seekers to visit for virtual worship around the world:
Other online worship
- The Ben Lomond Quaker Center Online Meeting for Worship, which is held daily 7:30 to 8:00 AM Pacific Time.
- Pendle Hill Online for Worship in the Barn, held daily at 8:30 AM Eastern Time
- Cloud Quakers, who hold Virtual Meeting for Worship every Sunday at 6:00 PM Mountain Time.
- Western Friend’s Quaker Worship and Fellowship Online resource, which organizes virtual worship opportunities from Quaker communities and conference centers by frequency and day of the week.
Spiritual Deepening eRetreats
An FGC Spiritual Deepening eRetreat is an online program where Friends and seekers can learn about Quaker faith and grow in spiritual community. From home, participants complete simple exercises, explore videos and other materials, and join weekly group check-ins inlcudin online worship. Each eRetreat lasts 4 to 8 weeks. Our schedule of Spiritual Deepening eRetreat offerings can be found here.
FGC Worship for People of Color
Friends General Conference began offering virtual worship for People of Color in 2018. This began after a retreat where Friends of Color asked for a worship space to share with others who have similar experiences.
Today, FGC hosts monthly virtual worship on Zoom for People of Color. These gatherings provide a welcoming place to pray, reflect, and grow in community. They also support Friends who may feel challenged or isolated in their local meetings. Virtual worship offers connection, strength, and joy for all who attend.
For more information or to sign up for online worship for Friends of Color please visit the FGC Ministry on Racism.
