The Outreach and Visibility Committee helps Friends General Conference (FGC) share the Quaker faith and build connections among people and meetings. The committee supports staff by helping plan outreach events—both in person and online—and by caring for FGC’s website, social media, and other communication tools.
Members of the committee help invite new people to learn about Quaker spirituality through public events, online gatherings, and positive social media interaction. They also help make sure that FGC’s messages are clear, welcoming, and true to Quaker values.
The committee aims to include fifteen volunteers who bring different experiences and ideas. People with backgrounds in event planning, communication, technology, or community outreach may find this work especially rewarding, but anyone with a friendly and inviting spirit is encouraged to take part.
Members may join smaller sub-committees that focus on events, the website, or social media. Meetings may happen once a month at first and then every other month once the group’s work is well established.
Anyone who enjoys connecting with others, sharing stories, and inviting people into the Quaker experience is warmly encouraged to join the Outreach and Visibility Committee. Volunteers help FGC grow its presence and strengthen its community of faith.
