Birmingham Friends Meeting

Welcome to Birmingham Friends Meeting

We are an active, caring community of families and individuals of all ages who come together to worship in the tradition of The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Each Sunday we gather in Meeting for Worship to listen for the still, small voice of God stirring within us. Meeting for Worship includes our children for the first 30 minutes after which they attend First Day (Sunday) School. Nursery care is available for younger children.

We are guided in our lives by our Quaker Testimonies on Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship. We welcome those who wish to join us.

What's New

We are very pleased to report that the Isaac family arrived safely on July 25 and we are now helping them resettle in the West Chester area.

The family is Congolese and consists of parents, two daughters (20 and 13), and three sons (15 year old twins and a 9 year old). The family fled the DRC nineteen years ago and has been living in a refugee camp in Tanzania. The Isaacs are beginning the daunting task of adjusting to a totally unfamiliar environment while also having to learn a new language. Please hold this family in the Light as they begin this journey .

Public
Birmingham Friends Meeting, through the leadership efforts of members Ted Brinton and Ruth Young, has raised money to buy mine detectors for use in developing countries, where warfare has rendered land unusable because of buried mines.
