Framingham Friends Meeting

Welcome Friends!

Framingham Friends Meeting (Quakers) invites you to join us for worship at 10am each Sunday. Wherever you are on your journey, whatever life experience you bring, all seekers are welcome to join us on our journey of Spirit and service. Children are very welcome here!  Wheelchair accessible.

Meeting Times

Worship Sundays at 10am.  Monthly business meeting at 11:30am on the third Sunday of the month (Sept - June).

What's New

Local children from the Open Spirit summer program (https://www.openspiritcenter.org/) had a wonderful time exploring the woods on and near our Meetinghouse grounds.  We welcome members of the Greater Framingham community to share the beauty of the space we are blessed to have.

Public

A group of Friends from Framingham Meeting attended the Lights for Liberty protest in downtown Framingham, Friday evening, July 12, where hundreds gathered to protest the inhumane treatment of migrants in detention camps across the country.   At 9:00 PM, candles were lit as part of a national movement to create a ‘silent sea of candles’ across the nation.  Thank you, Friends, for adding your Light to this cause.

The children gave it a good workout this morning, and united in expressing great satisfaction!  Thanks to Doug Lippincott and his nephew Ivan, who found it as a giveaway, transported it in 2 trips to the meetinghouse, re-assembled it, replaced some worn parts, and stabilized it.  Click on the title of this posting to see more photos!

On Sunday, May 5, we joyfully welcomed two new babies to our community, Sebastian and Isaiah.  Doug Lippincott led us in singing our traditional welcoming song, “Circle of the Sun” as we celebrated our growing group of children.  Each child present was then called by name, welcomed and cheered by all, and received a potted flower.  A big welcome to Sebastian, Isaiah, Eowyn, Alex, Juniper, Teal, Amelia, Lucas, Beau, Sadie, Linus and Helen!

Public

We usually have a shared meal of soup plus sides that people bring on the first Sunday of each month ("First First Day" in old Quaker terms).  This month, Doug Lippincott and Melissa Foster presented an eclectic array of music.  Both Doug and Melissa sang, while Melissa also played flute, button accordian, and shaker, and Doug played at least 2 types of ukelele.  "Would you like to wish on a star" was a big hit with Amelia, whose favorite Messier object is M60.  About 30 people enjoyed the show after having soup and sides.

Public

On Easter Sunday, the children all helped fill plastic Easter eggs and then all helped to hide them around the field.  We reserved the area around the swingset and sandbox for the littles, while the bigs could hunt anywhere they had not hidden eggs themselves.  Everyone, including adults, had a great time!  Thanks to Kristen and Amie for saving the day by providing candy!  Click to see more photos!
