Quakers are, by in large, liberal by American political standards. Many Quakers are highly active in furthering the causes of social justice in the world. Quakers routinely work in anti-war, environmental, racial equality, and the gay rights movement. Quakers pride themselves on being loving and inclusive towards all peoples of the world. Quakerism is a Christian religion, though not all Quakers consider themselves Christians. As such, it will vary from Quaker to Quaker on whether they read the Bible. However, the Bible is considered a key religious text for many Quakers. Watch a brief video that explains this in more detail.
