Vanessa Julye’s Uprooting Racism Keynote Address Featured in Western Friend

This summer, Vanessa Julye, the Coordinator of FGC’s Ministry on Racism program, delivered an honest, inspirational keynote address to Friends at North Pacific Yearly Meeting. In her Uprooting Racism address, she described the painful experiences of African American Friends who left their spiritual communities due to repeated incidents of racism, and lifted up strategies for Friends of European descent to move forward with the difficult work of “separating Whiteness from White Supremacy.”

Western Friend has printed excerpts from Vanessa’s presentation in their most recent issue.
