Workshop Description
Two 4-hour sessions: Saturday 2/1 & Sunday 2/2 (1-5pm Eastern / 10am-2pm Pacific)
This workshop will invite participants to explore sexuality and relationships through the lens of Quaker faith and practice. We’ll begin each session with open worship and a grounding exercise. After that, we’ll explore a topic through discussion, information-sharing, and embodied practice. Topics may include Quaker sexual ethics; “orientation” beyond gender; listening to our bodies as a practice of discernment; “coming out” (or not) in Quaker community; practicing consent; and faith-based activism on sexuality issues. Open to older teens as well as adults: adult participants should be willing and able to hold safe boundaries with youth.
