The experience of worshipful communion with Spirit is beyond words to describe. We meet in silence to open ourselves to the experience of God’s presence in us and among us, giving ourselves over to God’s loving care and power.
If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 (ESV) We join one another in God’s presence, inward and universal. Our single and holy commitment is that of opening ourselves, receptively, to the divine blessings of love, truth, grace and freedom. Attuned ourselves to Spirit, we can harmonize our walking with its movement, and our walking is of peace and harmony and healing in the world.
Following the pattern of in-person meeting for worship, where meeting starts when the first Friend enters the room, our online extended worship starts with the first person that logs in.
A brief orientation may be offered verbally at the beginning of our first meeting, when it seems that most or all Friends planning to attend are present.
Some time will be allowed at the end of meeting for introductions, when necessary, and for additional spiritual sharing.
Please be prepared to be flexible and forgiving concerning the meeting ending time. Meeting for worship is a sacred affair — a living thing. Closing meeting is a delicate act, which asks for gentleness, discernment and loving care.
I have facilitated workshops and retreats in religious as well as in secular and professional settings. Most importantly, I seek communion with Life. I value worship, as a privileged space for the transforming encounter with Truth, the truth that sets us free. During the week, I see my role as that of a host and housekeeper, whose task is to prepare the space, welcome Friends, be present to them, and join them with love in the presence of the Almighty. Daily extended worship fosters the development of a nurturing, loving spirit in the worshipping community, and I routinely find myself marvelously supported by my fellow worshippers in the care of meeting and attentiveness to everybody’s wellbeing.
