Workshop Description
One 4-hour session: Saturday 2/1 (1-5pm Eastern / 10am-2pm Pacific)
How do we cultivate a culture of generosity within a Meeting? Are there ways to help local Meetings respond to our shared aspirations and leadings of Spirit in order to increase our capacity to do good together? Join Colin Saxton, Everence Stewardship Theologian, in an exploration of best practices aimed at helping Meetings discuss their use of money and grow in the faithful stewardship of resources and ministry.
After worship, we will gather for an overview of our culture’s current giving landscape and a presentation on some of the best practices congregations use to encourage financial generosity and partnership in shared ministry. Through discussion, reflection, and sharing, we will consider the unique challenges and opportunities facing unprogrammed meetings when it comes to cultivating generosity and explore contextually appropriate ways these might be addressed.
All the resources shared throughout the workshop will be sent to participants afterward.
