Workshop Description
Five 2-hour sessions: Monday 2/3 – Friday 2/7 (3-5pm Eastern / 12-2pm Pacific)
A workshop for Friends actively engaged in racial justice work. We will share successful approaches to addressing White Supremacy and colonialism that will enhance our techniques for challenging racial and ethnic divisions. Participants must write a statement about their work. Our expectations and objectives for the week are to provide a space for Friends actively engaged in racial justice work to be able to build a community of support for each other. We (workshop leaders and participants) will also share both successful and unsuccessful approaches to addressing White Supremacy and colonialism that will enhance our techniques for challenging racial and ethnic divisions. We will examine lessons learned from the unsuccessful techniques. Begin with worship; Review homework; Share information (leaders and/or participants); Full group discussion; Break into affinity groups for discussion, worship, and worship sharing
Reconvene and close with worship
Facilitators will share recommended reading, videos, and/or podcasts with participants for them to review prior to and during the week of the workshop.
Participants must bring a written statement about their work to be shared with their fellow workshop participants.
Leader Experience
