FCNL General Secretary Diane Randall and Legislative Director for Domestic Policy Amelia Kegan will present about FCNL’s Quaker advocacy on the federal response to COVID-19.
2:00-3:30pm EDT: Telling your COVID-19 Story to Congress
Workshop leaders: Sergio Mata & Bobby Trice
FCNL staff members will facilitate an advocacy storytelling workshop on COVID-19 impacts. The content of this workshop is applicable to any communication with Congress, including media advocacy and virtual lobbying.
4:30-6:00pm EDT: Virtual Lobbying in Pandemic Times
Workshop leaders: Sarah Freeman-Woolpert & Alicia McBride
A follow up skill-building workshop session on how to advance Quaker advocacy in a time of social distancing led by FCNL lobby trainers. This session focuses on how to virtually lobby by phone to support COVID-19 relief efforts and FCNL’s advocacy to ensure the most vulnerable in our society are cared for during this time. This training prepares your group to lobby elected officials with a concrete plan and a clear action to make a difference.
