Workshops offer Gathering attenders the opportunity to be immersed in a topic with other interested Friends. Attenders stay in the same workshop throughout the week, helping form a mini-community within the Gathering. Each workshop meets from 9:00-11:45 AM each weekday. Most workshops include worship or worship-sharing each day.

A rising China will help define the 21st century. Yet despite Quaker commitments to peace, there are linguistic, cultural, and political barriers that prevent Friends from engaging with China. This workshop seeks to overcome these barriers using Quakers' long history in the country as a roadmap for future engagement.
For those seeking a more whole-hearted faithfulness, this workshop will provide a worshipful opportunity to explore ten elements of the Quaker spiritual journey, as experienced by early Friends and by ourselves. We'll help each other discern next steps in following our leadings, pray for each other, and go forth encouraged.
This workshop will advance understanding and convey skills in identifying and engaging with conflict within Quaker meetings. How can engagement with conflict transform us and our meetings? What are the costs of ignoring conflict? How can we approach conflict in ways that are in alignment with our faith?
Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) uses experiential activities to practice living non-violently in our personal lives, community and world. This will be a slightly abbreviated version of the AVP Basic Workshop. Activities focus on self-esteem, affirmation, community-building, communication, anger and non-violent conflict resolution. We will also have fun together!
These words from Psalm 46:10 are the essence of any spiritual path. What do they mean? Sitting with a segment each day, we will query, play, explore while seeking to open our hearts to Sacred Presence/love and, perhaps, find new directions for living our truth.
We will seek God and a sense of each other as we explore Minnesota on our bicycles. We will ride at least 10 miles a day.
We will make simple books and boxes and use them in expressing the Light. Each day there will be a new theme, such as Transformation, related to our projects. Queries and quotations will be offered for contemplation and discussion. We hope for shared inspiration, learning and fun. Materials fee: $10.
Simple melodies and simple words sung over and over can become extraordinarily powerful, especially when each chant emerges from and returns to deep silence. Enter into and become part of a sacred river of sound and silence, trusting that its current will take you where you need to go.
This workshop will focus on all aspects, both theoretical and practical, of being a presiding clerk of a Friends meeting or committee. There will be handouts and opportunities for experience sharing. All work will be done in a whole group setting. There will be a $10 materials charge.
We gather in God's presence, turning our souls' attention to the transforming power of Spirit, letting the giver of true life rise in our hearts and lead us in the way of truth and peace.
