Quaker Testimonies are a guide for how we should conduct our lives and how we should treat each other.  Below are six that form the core of our practice at York Friends Meeting:

Simplicity. We are committed to living intentionally, with restraint, moderation and sharing the earth’s resources equitably.

Peace. There is that of God in everyone. We are therefore committed to resolving conflict non-violently and removing the causes for war.

Integrity. To be whole spiritually, Quakers need to live their beliefs. We strive to always speak the truth.

Community. We support one another in our faith journeys & in times of joy and sorrow. We share with and care for each other and for all of humanity.

Equality. There is the Light of God in each person. All are equal before God regardless of sex, class, race, age, sexual orientation or any other identities.

Stewardship/Service. We are committed to caring for people and the earth.
