Witness Gatherings/Prayer Vigils of the Westtown Meeting and Surrounding Faith Based Communities

There were two witness opportunities on Wednesday morning Jan 20, 2021 at 10:00am related to the statement Westtown Meeting issued earlier to pray and reflect on recent national events and to hold the Presidential Inauguration in the Light.

Opportunity 1 - Public Witness Gathering/Prayer Vigil

  1. Public witness (in person in a COVID-responsible manner) took place in front of West Chester Friends Meeting, 425 N. High Street, West Chester, PA.

Participants arrived as they were able to listen to the reading of the Westtown Monthly Meeting statement (statement available below, pictures and video available on this post) and to share in silent prayer and vocal ministry as folks were led. Following the event, folks looked forward to watching coverage of the inauguration ceremony.

Opportunity 2 - Virtual Witness Gathering/Prayer Vigil

  1. A virtual 45-minute prayer service was hosted online by Westtown Meeting member Rebecca Mays. This too provided the opportunity for silent worship and reflection on recent past and forthcoming events and vocal ministry as people felt led to share.

Both of these opportunites provided meaningful reflection, necessary soul searching, and an uplifted and hopeful spirit for a brighter tomorrow. Westtown Meeting is hoping to  continue regular Witness Gatherings/Prayer Vigils going forward to support the concerns and movements of today. Future opportunities will be announced on this web site so keep checking back.
