A report to West Knoxville Friends Meeting from the Peace & Social Concerns Committee and FCNL Letter-Writing (Advocacy) Group -- July 29, 2018

In light of the Quaker Peace Testimony and long involvement by Quaker individuals and groups in nuclear disarmament, what are the special responsibilities of West Knoxville Friends Meeting concerning nuclear weapons given that we are in closer proximity to the Y-12 National Security Complex (bomb plant) than any other Quaker Meeting?  In this document, the PSC Committee asks Meeting to undertake a discernment process that entails, in part, consideration of signing on in support of the UN Treaty on the Prohibiition of Nuclear Weapons.
