He has served as a Friendly Adult Presence for Southern Appalachian Young Friends for many years. Chuck really enjoys kites!

Kite Making - Chuck will lead two sessions: Saturday, Chuck will lead an all-ages hands-on workshop on kite making and Sunday he will share a session for adults on his spiritual journey.

Dana Mitra

Dana has been a teacher for 20 years, starting at the elementary school level and working as a Professor of Education at Penn State for the past 12.  Her speaking and scholarship focuses on helping young people and teacher voice in change processes—including how to help people to make a difference in their communities. Dana is trained as a Co-Active Coach to work with individual clients around the world, run workshops, and deliver key note addresses on topics including building a purpose-driven life, finding balance and harmony, and tapping into inner wisdom. Dana attends State College Monthly Meeting.

Listening to the Still Small Voice - With listening to the “still small voice” is a central part of Quaker practice, this workshop would seek to expand the range and methods of accessing inner wisdom. Topics include discernment between inner wisdom and inner critics. Dana focuses on embodiment—where wisdom comes from in the body and how it is different when located in different places—the gut, the heart, the head, the feet. The workshop is  interactive, with discussion on queries such as—How do you “know”? How do you access wisdom when you need guidance?  Simple body movement would also help to tap into kinesthetic wisdom. Guided meditation, journaling, small discussions and sketching would also focus on how to identify our inner critics that sabotage our journeys—learning how to create separate from these voices and our souls. This work would also include learning how to strengthen our inner champions who can offer guidance and encouragement.

Lynne Graham

Lynne is a member of Wellsboro Monthly Meeting who recently completed the School of the Spirit Program for Spiritual Nurturers.

Journaling as a Spiritual Practice - Learn how a few present-day Quaker journal writers use this spiritual practice in their lives.  Then try your new or experienced hand with your own journal writing.  Worship Sharing will be included, time permitting.  Feel free to bring a journal/ pen/ drawing pencils, but materials will also be available.
