Meeting for Worship + Business, 08/26/2018

Present: Tom Hensold (clerk), Maurine Pyle, Kathy Cotton, Dennis Holtzclaw, Gary Davey

The Meeting opened with a moment of silence.

Tom offered to take minutes.

The Treasurer's report was submitted by mail from Dawn Crimson. Those attending reviewed and approved the report.

There was some discussion about World Quaker Day. Gary read a description of the purpose from Among Friends. It is the 1st Sunday of October (Oct 7th) but could be another time around that date. Since Julie Peyton was coming from FWCC on October 12 – 14, the meeting suggested we incorporate her visit with the theme of World Quaker Day. This item to be discussed further at next business.

There was some further planning for the visiting minister, Julie Peyton. Maurine offered to write a description of her visit to our Sunday meeting on Oct 14. We still need more clarity of other meeting times while Julie is here, including Life of the Meeting. We agreed that invitations could be made to neighboring Quakers, other fellowships/friends to be part of our time with Julie and the discussions/worship. Maurine noted that Julie has funding from FWCC for her visit to us, but we might consider a donation to FWCC to help support the visit, or similar ministries.

September calendar – Tom reported some conflicts with 2nd and 4th Sundays for business and requested it be moved to September 16, perhaps moving F&P discussion to 2nd or 4th Sunday. The meeting approved.
