Meeting for Worship + Business, 07/22/2018

Present: Kathy Cotton, Dawn Crimson, Maurine Pyle, Dennis Holtzclaw, Tom Hensold (clerk), Jill Adams.

The meeting opened with advices on conducting business from Illinois Yearly Meeting's Faith & Practice, followed by agenda review and silent worship.

1. The Treasurer's report was reviewed and accepted.

The Treasurer was asked to verify that the Meeting's insurance policy covers us at our current worship address. (Post meeting: yes, and the Dayemi Tariqat is recorded as the building owner.)

2. This is the annual meeting of the SIQM not-for-profit corporation. The body affirms the following three required Directors: Thomas Hensold (President), Dawn Crimson (Secretary and Treasurer), Jill Adams (Director). Dawn has sent in the annual renewal form and fee. Our NFP Corporation file number is N 6444-135-3.

3. Request for clearness for Maurine Pyle: What is the way forward for the New Children of the Light blog? Participants in a meeting for clearness are asked to read the first three chapters and the comments on the blog. Dawn volunteered to serve on a clearness committee. Tom will invite additional participants.

4. FWCC traveling minister Julie Peyton is scheduled to visit our meeting Oct 11-15. Dawn will provide hospitality. We can reach out to invite regional Friends to join us. Activites TBD (to be discerned).

5. July 29, after Meeting for Worship -- farewell hour at Zach and Katie's, 1005 S Skyline Dr, Carbondale 62901. Friends would like to provide them a pot luck meal (without using their kitchenware). Jill will ask if Janis and Bethany are still in town and could come.

6. Life of the Meeting will be held Friday Aug. 10 at 6pm at Dawn's, 707 S Valley Dr. Carbonddale 62901.

7. We will write travel introductions for Janis & Bethany and Zach & Katie. Dawn offered to draft them and will contact them to learn their destination meetings.
