Together we nurture the spiritual vitality of Friends

Retreat on January 30 at Fellowship Farm

Join us for a one-day retreat at Fellowship Farm on Saturday January 30th. We envision a day of community building, spiritual deepening, acknowledging our spiritual gifts, play, feasting and singing. In a world that whirls, a day of Quaker centering is food for the Spirit.

“Our sense of community does not depend on all professing identical beliefs, for it grows from worshiping together, knowing one another, loving one another, accepting responsibilities, sharing and working together. We will be helped by tried and tested Quaker methods and procedures, but the meeting will only live if we develop a sense of community, which includes children and adults alike. If all those who belong to our meeting are lovingly cared for, the guidance of the spirit will be a reality. The celebration and commemoration of life’s great events draw us together as we share the occasion and rejoice or mourn with one another.” Quaker Faith & Practice, Britain Yearly Meeting, 1995; 10.03.

The dynamic children’s program will be led by Becky Rutherford, and key parts of the rich adult program will be coordinated by Thomas Swain, Nancy Rosenberger and Erik Pedersen.

Where and when: Fellowship Farm, 2488 Sanatoga Road, Pottstown PA. The planned Beloved Community retreat will run from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Delicious lunch and dinner will be provided. Bring a snack to share for our two breaks.

Cost: Schuylkill Meeting is covering most of the costs of this event. Each family is asked to contribute only $20.00. No one should stay away due to financial need; scholarships are available.

Please let Erik know that you're coming by January 17th. Erik can be reached at 610-416-8122 or erikhpedersen@yahoo.com.
