Welcome/Welcome Back Celebration 2020
Dear Friends/friends,
New to Quaker Meeting? Never been to Friends Meeting but curious about what Quakers believe? Haven’t been to Friends Meeting in a while? Have friends who are interested in Quakers?
Roanoke Friends Meeting will gather for a “Welcome/Welcome Back Celebration” on Wednesday, November 4 at 7 PM, through Zoom.
Schedule will be:
7 PM Meeting for Worship
7:15 PM Panel-Experienced Friends will speak about Quakerism
7:45 PM Questions-and-answers
The panel will consist of Heidi Koring of Lynchburg Meeting speaking about Quaker beliefs; Greg Robb of Friends Meeting of Washington speaking about Quaker worship; and Rita Willett of Richmond Meeting speaking about Quaker service.
Heidi Koring is a member of the Roanoke/Lynchburg Ministry and Counsel Committee and was the Director of Academic Advising at the University of Lynchburg. Rita Willett is a member of the Baltimore Yearly Meeting Ministry and Pastoral Care Committee and is a prison chaplain at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women in Goochland. Greg Robb is the Co-Clerk of the Baltimore Yearly Meeting Ministry and Pastoral Care Committee and is a journalist for the Washington Post.
