Dear Friends/friends,

New to Quaker Meeting?  Never been to Friends Meeting but curious about what Quakers believe?  Haven’t been to Friends Meeting in a while?  Have friends who are interested in Quakers?

Roanoke Friends Meeting will gather for a “Welcome/Welcome Back Celebration” on Wednesday, November 4 at 7 PM, through Zoom.

Schedule will be:

7 PM           Meeting for Worship

7:15 PM    Panel-Experienced Friends will speak about Quakerism

7:45 PM    Questions-and-answers

The panel will consist of Heidi Koring of Lynchburg Meeting speaking about Quaker beliefs; Greg Robb of Friends Meeting of Washington speaking about Quaker worship; and Rita Willett of Richmond Meeting speaking about Quaker service.

Heidi Koring is a member of the Roanoke/Lynchburg Ministry and Counsel Committee and was the Director of Academic Advising at the University of Lynchburg.  Rita Willett is a member of the Baltimore Yearly Meeting Ministry and Pastoral Care Committee and is a prison chaplain at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women in Goochland.  Greg Robb is the Co-Clerk of the Baltimore Yearly Meeting Ministry and Pastoral Care Committee and is a journalist for the Washington Post.

Please spread the word about the “Welcome/Welcome Back Celebration”.  It should be an enjoyable and interesting event!
