Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about Friends, our worship, etc....

Quaker Principles: The Religious Society of Friends does not subscribe to a written creed. We believe that God is present within each of us and that, if we listen, God will guide us in all things. This is the foundation of our worship and of our lives. We believe that faithfully following God's calling requires careful discernment and testing with our religious community. The Quaker way of life emphasizes integrity, simplicity, and the equality of all persons as God's children. We believe that we have been especially called to witness against violence in our personal lives, in our communities, and in the world. We seek to live lives that remove the causes of war and other forms of violence.

Meeting Organization: All Friends share responsibility for Ministry in the Meeting. The spiritual and temporal affairs of the meeting are attended to at a Monthly Meeting for Business, held following Meeting for Worship on the second Sunday of each month. All are welcome. The financial needs of the meeting are met through contributions of members, attenders, and friends of the Meeting. Donations may be left in the donation box, given to the Treasurer or Clerk, or mailed to the address at the top of the page. Clear Creek Monthly Meeting is part of the larger body of Quakers in the world. It is a member of Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting that encompasses Friends in nearby states, and of the Friends General Conference which includes Quakers in the United States and Canada.

Education: On most Sundays, religious education classes are available for children during part of the Meeting for Worship. Chidren are invited to to attend dedicated activities during the first part of the Meeting and then are invited to sit with the Meeting during the last ten to fifteen minutes. Children are also free to attend the entire Meeting for Worship. Child care is provided for the youngest children in the nursery.

Meeting Activities: Our life as a community is enriched by opportunities for fellowship and spiritual growth through religious education, discussion groups, celebrations, and an annual retreat. We also support and encourage members and attenders who are called to offer service and ministry to our local community and within the wider Society of Friends.
