 1ST FLOOR

MEETING ROOM

Chairs & Pillows

  • Chairs: Stack chairs. Please match back styles in each stack; arm chairs stack on bottom. Chairs are rolled to Young Friends room for week days.
  • Cushions and basket for cushions: Place in Young Friends room stacked with adequate space from the closet door (floor is marked).

Carpet: Vacuum if food is spilled on carpet.

Meeting room check: Collect any cups/plates or personal items left by Friends.

Temperature control

  • Heat/AC to settings: Adjust appropriately for seasonal use. Winter months set at 68-72; Summer months at 74-75.
  • Fans: Turn off.


KITCHEN

  • Tea, coffee and snacks: Return to kitchen shelves/cabinets. We do not leave these items on counter tops.
  • Donated baked goods and treats: Take home by donor or Friends cleaning up. Or added to compost bin or trash. We leave table and counter tops clean during the week.
  • Refrigerated items: Return to fridge.
  • Cups, utensils, plates, etc.: Wash, dry and return to their appropriate drawers or cabinets. All drawer fronts and cabinet doors are labeled.
  • Counters & stove: Wipe well to remove all food/drink spills.

GARDEN ROOM

  • Counter tops and tables: Wipe well to remove crumbs and sugar that attract ants and roaches. (We’re Friendly yet not this Friendly!!)
  • Garden room floor and rug: Sweep up crumbs.
  • Shades: Window shades help control heat loss in the winter and control heat build up in the summer.  In the winter shades should cover the windows during late afternoon and at night to help insulate the room.  In the summer window shades should cover the windows from mid day until sunset to help shade/cool the back rooms.

FIRST DAY SCHOOL/NURSERY

  • Floors: Sweep up crumbs.
  • Toys and books: Put away all toys and books.
  • Shades: Window shades help control heat loss in the winter and control heat build up in the summer.  In the winter, shades should cover the windows during late afternoon and at night to help insulate the room.  In the summer, window shades should cover the windows from mid day until sunset to help shade/cool the back rooms.

Laundry

  • Dish-towels & table cloths: Take home to wash.
  • Washed linens: Return & put in labeled kitchen drawer.

Trash & Recycling

  • Collect trash in 1) Bathrooms, 2) Garden Room, 3) Young Friends Room, and 4) Kitchen.
  • Collect & take to outside trash canisters. Put clean plastic bags in inside containers.
  • Recyclable plastic containers, cardboard, glass, etc.: Put in recycle container outside.

Refills

Location of supplies: Linens—Labeled kitchen drawers; Soap, paper products, etc—Cupboard in Young Friends Room

  • Kitchen: Paper towels, soap and fresh linens Refills Location of supplies: Linens—Labeled kitchen drawers;
  • Restrooms: Replenish soap, toilet paper containers and paper towel dispensers. 

Lights

  • Turn off all interior lights

Locking-up

  • All exterior doors are locked: 1) Front main door; 2) side door (next to stairs to 2nd floor) AND 3) Garden room door.
  • Last person in building can flip MAIN FRONT door lock & exit side door.
  • Be sure to lock this side door, too!!

2ND FLOOR

Clean-up

  • Be sure that any food or beverages are taken out in trash.
  • Clean up any spills or crumbs
  • Vacuum as needed
  • Arrange chairs and pillows neatly in both rooms

Crafts, Games, Puzzles, Books, Projects & ‘more’

  • Return to appropriate place.

Soap, Paper Towels, & Tissue

  • Refill all bathroom supplies, as needed

Trash

  • Empty all trashcans
  • Replace with clean plastic bag

Windows

  • Close & lock all windows

Lights

  • Turn off all lights

Exterior door in stairwell

  • Be SURE that it is locked!
